Registered To Vote, But Not At Your Current Address? You are a Provisional Voter.

You can still vote and you are called a provisional voter. As long as you are registered to vote somewhere in Ohio you can vote on Election Day here in Athens by going to Baker Center, 2nd Floor or the Board of Elections located at 15 South Court. You will vote a local ballot. Be sure to complete all blanks correctly on the envelope your ballot goes into if you do not your ballot will not count. You can also vote 30 days in advance by going to the Board of Elections.
Provisional Voting Identification
You may use any of the Identification a regular voter can use but the simplest to use is the last four digits of your social security number. Recommended for provisional voting are the last four digits of your social security number. Remember these numbers must be correct. If you use your Ohio Driver’s License Number be sure to use the number on the left hand side. Not the number above your picture. Your ballot will be placed in an identification envelope. It is critical you complete everything. Do not just show them your Ohio Driver’s License write the number on the envelope where indicated. Be sure to sign your name where asked for.

 

Other types of identification that can be used are bank statements, utility bills, paycheck and any government-issued document showing your name and the address you are voting from.

 
Remember Passports and Ohio University I.D.'s are not identification accepted.
